I saw this book in my local book store and after watching Julie & Julia, I can't help but to buy it. I'm not so much of a cook, I'm barely in the kitchen. But I like the idea of going to culinary art and pastry art school. It's one of those things that I know I have to do in my life - but timing was never right.

Hopefully one day I'll get there.

Had a long, tiring, but a very productive weekend, so decided to take a break on a Monday. I think I haven't posted for nearly a week? Yup, but managed to take tons of photos with my olympus. ☺

one thing i learned from this weekend though, is that everything is about timing and everything that happened to you is never a coincidence even though it may looks so. everything happens for a reason and purpose. it may not make any sense to you right now, but in the future when you look back, that's how you will think of it.

and that you should really do what you want to do. as in do it right now! stop thinking and procrastinating too much of what's gonna happen.. just do it first, everything else will fall into place as you go along with it.

most of all... be brave!

Here are more pictures I took with the olympus pen e-p2. Look at that bokeh. This camera is just love. I really recommend it to anyone who wants to migrate from point-and-shoot camera to dslr. I read a lot of photography 101, but never quite understand the relationship between the shutter speed, the aperture, and ISO until I start playing around with this camera. I just read the manual book that comes with it and play around for 2 days.

My sister own a 350D Canon but navigating around it is just impossible for me.. yup! So that camera is just sitting somewhere in her wardrobe.

I just bought my olympus pen e-p2. and i'm loving it ♥! I bought the camera kit with 14-42mm lens and found the panasonic pancake lens 20mm f1.7. It's so much more portable and I've been carrying it with me ever since I got them.☺

I will post more pictures later...

I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it.

change: a glimpse of the future media

I just read this article from "On The Media" and I find it interesting how the Internet have changed our world and the way we consume media.

As we all know, the big newspapers company are collapsing and they're struggling to find new ways to get their revenues. And when all this are happening, journalists are losing their job.. and there's a solution to this problem.

This is what Jeff Jarvis, an associate professor and director of the Interactive Journalism Program at the City University of New York’s new Graduate School of Journalism said in the interview:

"... the big old dumb company, newspaper company, is not going to be replaced by some big, smart new newspaper company. It’s going to be replaced by an ecosystem of a couple of hundred different places who operate under different motives and means and business models. That’s the world our students (journalism) are going into."

"... the reason I'm teaching entrepreneurial journalism is so we can also prepare our students to go start their own jobs, create their own jobs and their own work."

"So what’s going to happen is a lot of our students and, indeed, by the way, a lot of the journalists who have left newspapers are now trying to start these enterprises. And part of what we can do in a university is educate them not only in journalism and in new media skills, but also in the business of journalism."

"As soon as they come into the school I give the “scared straight” talk to the journalists. In fact, when I first did this when the school opened, I did such a good job that one student put her head in her hands and wailed, oh, my God, I've made a terrible mistake. I locked the door to keep her in, because what followed is a very exciting new world where, in fact, journalists can make a good living."

When it comes to times like this, I think what we can do is change our perspective to find the solution instead of taking a turn in the corner and run. Learning to adapt is not easy - been there, done that - but at the end of the day, change is always good and it's exactly what we needed in order to be better :)

At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. It's like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed.

The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it's not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you, and once in a while people may even take your breath away.

I recently bought these mini instax film :) they're not as great as polaroids of course, but they're still much more affordable than polaroid films. And of course I just have to stock up on the films just in case. you'll never know!

I put them in this mini polaroid album that i bought online from an online korean store. Will post them next time, ok ☺

... instead, be more aware of the present. Because what you do today, will shape your future. So don't let time pass by worrying about what you can't change. just do what you can do now.

I have this thing with sequined jacket like the one above (it's 3.1 phillip lim, by the way). I've been wanting to get one but never found the perfect one, because I'm pretty sure one sequined jacket is enough for your wardrobe, so i want to make sure i'm in love with it before buying.

I think they're perfect for a night out and you can match them with anything.. it dresses you up instantly!

and yes with the crisis.. oh well, there's no harm in dreaming about beautiful pretty things here right?

sx-70 love

I've been thinking of getting one of these polaroid sx-70 and polapremium is selling them for USD 270. I also found some listings on ebay, selling them with the leather case for less than USD 200. I'm so tempted to buy them, but I don't know how reliable those ebay sellers are.

Has anyone ever bought a sx-70 off ebay?

I realized blogger's editor is not the friendliest out there.

I'm trying to get my photos aligned properly and at the same size..is there a way to automatically set them?

I have no idea why my photos are pixelated.. will try to get it fixed soon
